Joey: I'm bored.
Me: Don't ever say that in this house or you'll quickly find yourself doing manual labor.
A pause...
Joey: OK, then. I'm unsatisfied with today's entertainment.

I wouldn't say you are failing!! It takes very intelligent parents to raise such smart, quick-witted children! It may be biting you in the behind now, but, hey, at least the kid is smart!
If I had a dollar for every time I heard this!!!!!
My mom used to make us do reports from the encyclopedia when we said this--I sure know alot about things that start with "D"...it only took me once...
ah the joys of summer vacation! Yes my kids are bored as well....and they want the play station to entertain them. Unfortunately, it has a time limit so when it's up then they are bored. My favorite: read a book, or better yet if you don't find something good and productive to entertain yourself, I will find something for you....I read that in the parent's handbook on page 57 I believe! LOL :-)
Besides how can they be bored when you have a pool to swim in! I would swim in our pool growing up FOR HOURS! And then I would sleep very well that night.
That is classic! I love that he is old enough to put it in other words!
Hey Suzanne -- I'm going to be in socal next weekend...will you be around some afternoon? I don't have a phone number for you...
